Abbotsford, BC... Fraser Valley Stage brings their production "Remembrances" to Live @ The Reach Friday, November 11, 7pm at The Reach Gallery Museum Abbotsford, 32388 Veterans Way.

"Remembrances", is a reflective program of music and poetry pertaining to the two world wars.  Although much of the music of both wars was positive, written to keep spirits up and reflect the longing for home and peace, the poetry of the time sought to show the reality of the experience.  This program juxtaposes these two art forms to remember many of the "feel good" songs of the eras, but also the cost of war.

The cast of singers for this production includes Phil Aldridge, Heather Davis, Pauline Harskamp, Ruth Rich, and Tony Roper.  They are accompanied on piano by Eileen Deros.  Phil, Heather, Ruth, Tony and Eileen all appeared in the recent FVS production of "Stranded at Westcliffe", with the music of Gilbert and Sullivan - for which Pauline was the script writer and Artistic Director.  Fraser Valley Stage is currently in rehearsal for an Abbotsford, April 2012 production of "HMS Pinafore".  This production will then be taken to the UK in August for the Buxton International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival.  This will be their third appearance at the Buxton Festival.
