Eel, Violets, and Espuma of Foie Gras Feature in Shadbolt Centre's DOXA Motion Picture Film Series

BURNABY, BC -  Opening with A Matter of Taste, the Shadbolt Centre is pleased to present the DOXA Motion Picture Film Series for its 2011/12 Theatre Season.  The series will offer a selection of some of the world's most fascinating nonfiction films.  Provocative, curious and deeply engaging, this collection of films represents the very best in contemporary documentary practice.  The series opener is a film about hotshot young chef Paul Liebrandt - a fast-rising star in the NYC restaurant world.  A Matter of Taste mixes sumptuous food: eel, violets and chocolate, and espuma of calf brains and foie gras,  with an insider's view into the complicated relationships between critics, chefs, and restaurant owners.

DOXA Motion Picture Film Series runs Monday, October 17th at 7pm with A Matter of Taste, as well as Monday, November 7th and March 12, 2012 with titles yet to be released.

Note:  Espuma (Spanish for foam), of calf brains or foie gras is usually produced by creating a stock, turning it into a gel and then extruding it through a N2O canister.
