BURNABY, BC -  One part stand-up, one part chanteuse, downtown diva Sharron Matthews serves up an exciting musical comedy cabaret filled with singing, stories, audience participation and tons of laughter at the Shadbolt Centre October 21-22!  Sharron combines her powerful voice and comedic wit to create pop medleys, sing-a-longs and song-o-logues that will have the audience roaring with laughter and crooning along.  Sharron's bawdy humour, dazzling costumes and distinctive voice have earned her comparisons to the 'other' Divine Miss M - Bette Midler.  Called  the '#1 Cabaret in New York City in 2010' by NYC NiteLife Exchange;  'Critics' Pick' 7 times by NOW Magazine and 'The Thing to Do!' by The Globe and Mail, this is one party you don't want to miss!

Her dramatic and comic sensibilities are apparent not only in the wildly entertaining monologues weaved seamlessly between songs, as she riffs on pop culture, but within the songs themselves. Sharron effortlessly and humourously reveals the vibrancy, heartbreak and hilarity of the stories within each song's lyrics.  Sharron's musical repertoire ranges from Contemporary Pop and Standards, Ballads and Musical Theatre showstoppers, all of which are fair game to be creatively woven together into medleys and song-o-logues that are sure to surprise and delight audiences both young and old.

About Sharron Matthews
Performing in the biggest musicals in North America, singing with symphonies, providing the voices of animated characters, writing and compiling her own shows and cabarets plus working in front of the cameras have kept this artist busy throughout the last 20 years of her career.  On the big and small screen you might recognise Sharron from the hit movie Mean Girls in which she played 'Joan the Secretary' alongside Lindsay Lohan. Sharron was also featured in Cinderella Man with Russell Crowe, Take the Lead with Alfre Woodard, Kojak with Ving Rhames and as one of the Pick-a Little Ladies in The Music Man movie for Disney with Matthew Broderick. Recent projects include the feature film Camille with Sienna Miller and James Franco, the Hairspray movie with John Travolta and the new CBC series Altar Boy Gang.   Theatrical performances include Madame Thenardier in Les Miserables with Colm Wilkinson in Toronto as well as on a North American tour; Lottie in original cast of the Harold Prince revival of Showboat with Elaine Stritch and Robert Morse; Babette in Beauty and the Beast at the Princess of Wales and the Narrator in two sold out runs of Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.  Most recently Sharron played 'The Wicked Witch of the West' in the Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People's The Wizard of Oz.
