[BCMA] David Thompson Bicentennial Events in Revelstoke

Revelstoke Museum and Archives is hosting a series of events to commemorate
the 200th anniversary of Davic Thompson's journey up the Columbia River past
present-day Revelstoke.  

 

Friday, September 9th: 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm:  Exhibit opening at the museum:
David Thompson on the Columbia River - 200 years

                                 7:00 pm:                  Evening speaker
Jack Nisbet presents "Cold work upstream" - David Thompson on the Upper
Columbia River 1811 to 1812 

                                                                  at
Revelstoke Community Centre.  Jack Nisbet is the author of two books on
David Thompson:  Sources of the River and 

                                                                 The
Mapmaker's Eye

 

Saturday, September 10th:  8 am to 1 pm:      Display and Book Signing by
Jack Nisbet at Revelstoke Farmer's Market, Grizzly Plaza

                                       7:00 pm:              Campfire
stories about David Thompson at Martha Creek Provincial Park Campground, Hwy
23 North

 

All events are free of charge.
