   Greetings from the BC Museums Association!


   The BCMA's Awards Committee wishes to invite Nominations for this year's
  provincial *Museums in Motion Awards**;* and applications for The Barrie
  Hardcastle Bursary and The Joe Nagel Technology Bursary for 2012.


   Deadline for Award Nominations & Bursary Applications is:
  *5:00pm, *  *Friday, July 27, 2012*.


   Complete 2012 Award & Bursary Guidelines, Nomination & Application forms
are *attached* (in Word) for your convenience; or downloadable from the
BCMA

   BCMA's exclusive and prestigious provincial *Museums in Motion Awards*
  recognize three traditional categories of service:

  - Distinguished Service Award
  - Corporate Service Award
  - Awards of Merit (up to 3 may be presented)


   Please take this important opportunity to nominate your colleagues,
  organizations, volunteers, or sponsors deserving recognition for their
efforts,
  contributions, or dedication to your institution and the province's
museums,
  art galleries and heritage community.


   The BCMA's Awards & Bursaries program is designed:

   "To reflect and honour the diverse achievements of our sector, so
  nominators are encouraged to also promote projects or initiatives that
  incorporate 'green' concepts and practices; or to recognize extraordinary
  and longstanding acts of philanthropy, management or volunteerism, in
  addition to the traditional nominations of exemplary exhibits and special
  projects."


   The nomination process has been simplified in an effort to ensure no
  deserving recipient is overlooked. Neither nominees nor nominators are
  required to be current BCMA members.


   Successful nominees will be confidentially notified in September and
  formally announced & presented with their *Museums in Motion Award* at
this year's Awards Banquet at BCMA's provincial *Conference 2012: *
*"Rendezvous - **All Together Now!"* on Friday, October 19, 2012 in
Kamloops, BC.


   This year, the BCMA is confirming arrangements for a LIVE webcast of
the awards presentation ceremony from Kamloops, on the BCMA website.

   Recipients will be presented with the prestigious *Museums in Motion*bronze
  sculpture, (photo attached), created exclusively for the BCMA by world-
  renowned sculptor,   Geert Maas <http://www.geertmaas.org/>, of Kelowna,
BC, (  www.geertmaas.org  ).
