Artists offer 'performative tours' of historic Dalnavert Museum
Winnipeg Free Press Share/Partager
What happens when you mix the writings of Charles Dickens with the real-life history of Winnipeg's
Dalnavert Museum, the restored Victorian mansion that belonged to Sir Hugh John Macdonald? You get a
fanciful tour/performance called Dalnavert Copperfield, one of many events being held around the world
this year to mark the 200th anniversary of Dickens' birth. More/LIRE PLUS

documents d'archives de l'Empress of Ireland. More/LIRE PLUS

Newly restored WW1-era tank goes on display at Canadian War Museum
Ottawa Citizen Share/Partager
A rare First World War-era tank has gone on display at the Canadian War Museum after undergoing
restoration. The six-tonne tank, installed in the LeBreton Gallery, was among about 250 M1917s acquired
from the United States as 'scrap metal' in 1940 by Canadian Col. F.F. Worthington. More/LIRE PLUS

Fight waged over Richard Serra sculpture in field north of Toronto
The Globe and Mail Share/Partager
Over the decades, thousands of art lovers have clandestinely found their way by foot, snowshoe,
snowmobile and ski to a field about 50 kilometres north of Toronto to peer at and walk around Shift, a still
relatively unknown outdoor installation completed in 1972 by internationally acclaimed sculptor Richard
Serra. More/LIRE PLUS

More/LIRE PLUS

Canada's Queen is no foreigner
Ottawa Citizen Share/Partager
It's absurd that a foreigner is head of state, someone wrote in response to your correspondent's recent ode
to the longevity of Her Majesty. "And don't give me that line that she's Queen of Canada. She wouldn't
know a hockey puck from a piece of tar". More/LIRE PLUS

More/LIRE PLUS

Alberta Science Centre's first director Wieser dies
Calgary Herald Share/Partager
A pioneer in Calgary's arts, culture and science community has died. Wieser began working as executive
director at the planetarium, which later became the Alberta Science Centre, in 1966. He held the job until he
retired in 1991. More/LIRE PLUS
