[BCMA] artifacts for deaccession

The Port Moody Heritage Society is looking for a new home for the following

 Club; wooden, burl head

Wooden club with burl at end, possibly oiled, hand-carved by Pirie.
Possibly pine.



Mallet, court; 24cm X 5cm

Court mallet or gavel, made of yew wood, varnished, hand-carved by Pirie.



Mallet, court; 23.5cm X 4.5cm

Court mallet or gavel, made of varnished light yew wood, hand carved by
Pirie.



Paperweight; wood box/ball

Ball "trapped" inside a cage. Wood.



Holder, candle; wooden/Y-shape

Varnished Yew wood (dark), hand carved tree branch (fork), a candle holder
carved by Pirie.



Trowel, garden; wooden, carved

Varnished yew wood garden trowel, hand-carved by Pirie, on handle: "B.C.
Souvenir Arts/Yew Wood". Sheet E2 describes object as a "spear".

(a) varnished yew wood, open-ended, egg cup hand-carved (lathe) by Pirie.

Goblet; wooden, 6cm high

Varnished yew wood (dark) goblet, hand-carved (on lathe) by Pirie.



Holder, candle; wood/12cm high

Varnished yew wood, candle holder, brass lining in hole, hand-carved
(lathe) by Pirie.

Varnished yew wood, candle holder, hand-carved (on lathe) by Pirie, on
bottom black stamp reads: "B.C. Souvenir Arts / Austin Road/ New

Shaker, salt & pepper; wooden

(a) Circular varnished yew wood salt or pepper shaker, "B.C. Souvenir
Arts/Yew Wood" hand-carved by Pirie.
(b) Circular varnished yew wood salt or pepper shaker, cork in bottom:
"B.C. Souvenir Arts/Yew Wood", hand-carved by Pirie.



Camera, case; KODAK BULLSEYE

(B) Camera case. Black leather. Wood insert, painted black.

Black leather. Purple felt interior. Metal lock device.

Black leather covered wooden box camera. Metal hardware. "Eastman Kodak Co.
No.3 Bulls Eye Kodak Rochester. N.Y. U.S.A." and serial number "5783".

A) Kodak. Folding camera. "Use Autographic Film No. A-130" opens with
lens/bellows extension. Shutter speeds 25, B, 50, T, 100.

B)Leather camera case. "AMR.SGT.Romeo Gagne.k73145"

Black leather camera. Wood and glass. "Eastman Kodak Co. No. 8 cartridge
Kodak. Rochester.N.Y.U.S.A."



Plate holder, film; KODAK



Machine, sewing; WHITE ROTARY

Sewing machine. Black with gold floral decoration. Made of cast iron and
polished steel. The label reads "WHITE ROSARY MADE IN U.S.A.".



Paddle; wood, 19.5 x 5.5cm

Paddle, unfinished wood blade.



Iron; neck tie press

Aluminum neck tie presser. Black handle. Brown rubber cord. Writen on
handle in a circle " - NECK TIE - PRESS" and also in a circle " - 60 W -
120 V - AC - DC - ".



Screwdriver; 20cm. long

Screwdriver with a black painted wooden handle and a steel shaft.



Spatula; long blade, metal

Steel spatula. Has a long blade.



Fork; wood handle, 19.0cm

Fork, grey steel unfinished wood handle.

Teaspoon; NEVADA

Silver alloy. On back of handle "NEVADA NICKEL SILVER O.S. CO."



Slicer, cheese; green handle

Cheese slicer, green painted wood handle, steel slicer with some rusting.

Knife, butcher; "1198 DEXTER"

Butcher knife, polished wood handle, steel blade, attached with two pins.
Engraved on handle "1198 DEXTER" on blade "DEXTER/SOUTHBRIDGE MASS." The
"G" in Southbridge is illegible, and merely conjecture.



Grater; metal/ACME SAFETY

long and flat, wires criss cross in center of grater (19 wires across
width, 11 across length)



Lifter, stove; iron, FAWCETT

Cast iron stove lifter, with coiled wire handle and "s"-shaped lifting end.
Perforated at end. Lettering on shaft: "FAWCETT"

Silver paint on cast iron.



Poker; stove, 50cm/coil handle

Stove poker, cast iron with coiled wire handle, and slight elbow at end.

Cast iron stove poker.



Fork, toasting; black wire



Spear, fish; 3 prong/1 missing

Cast iron fish spear. Used to spear large fish.



File; 32 x 2.5cm

Grey steel file. Fine ridges on both sides.



Jar; mixing ?, plain white

White jar. Glazed ceramic.



Eggcup; white ceramic

White with gold band. Ceramic



Pitcher, cream; roses/gold

Cream pitcher. White, with green leaves, and pink roses. Gold paint around
the rim and around the handle. On bottom in green "MONBIJOU. BAVARIA" with
trade mark.



Dish, relish; oval/scalloped

Purple flower design on inside. Ceramic. Written on bottom in green
"LEUCHTENBURG GERMANY and a trade mark (a castle)



Teapot; green floral w/birds

China tea pot, pale green, white, gold. No lid. From "Chinese digging
ground" at Grandview highway and Slocan Street.



Shaker, salt & pepper; green

Salt and pepper shakers (a) salt shaker octagonal green glass with metal
screw cap (b) pepper shaker same as above.



Bowl, sugar; copper color

Sugar bowl, brass in relief at base "M, Design Reg NO 54662, Japan".



Mug; pottery ?, light brown

Mug, white with brown at top, blue flecks, ceramic.



Jug; SHEET METAL PRODUCT CO

Jug sheet "The Sheet Metal Products Co. Ltd. 1 pint" printed on front of
jug, attached handle has round brass thumb rest: front of jug has raised
lip/poured spout.

Mug; metal, child's ?

Aluminum. Double ridged line at top and bottom.



Can, tin; CIGARETTES, ration

Ration tin, grey tin, in relief on top: "Cigarettes".



Strainer; tea, metal

tea strainer, aluminum, cylindrical, all sides including lid are perforated
with small holes, screw lid, centre part is raised, handle missing.



Clippers, hair; manual, hand

Hair clippers, chrome plated on cast iron, "Pranafa" and trademark on side
of one handle. Donated by Elva Sanderson (Dr. J.S.Pirie Estate).



Pin; WWI, brass "delegate"

Brass pin, "Delegate" rectangle.



Wringer, clothes; UNIVERSAL

wringer, clothes, no paint, raw wood, iron screws, steel handle and gears.
"No 11" "Universal" "Loosen top screws when not in use" "J.J.Mewitt /
Medicine Hat, Alta."

This artifact was found on July/11/2003 by Amir



Holder, match; faded metal

matchstick dispenser, silver paint streaked over original label, on tray:
"Sprague" and Williamson / Medicine Hat, Alta [Alberta].



Pan, muffin; makes 12

Muffin tray, for 1 dozen small muffins, tarnished metal.



Pan, muffin; makes 6

Muffin tray, for 1/2 muffins, dark grey metal. Makes 6 muffins.



Shaker, pepper; metal, w/lid

Salt or pepper shaker, plain aluminum.



Eggcup; white/flowers/leaves

Egg cup, white ceramic, floral pattern, yellow flowers.



Shaker, sugar; metal, w/lid

Spice shaker, plain aluminum, partially filled with cinnamon (now empty).



Plate; enamel, 17.5cm

Plate, white enamel with blue along edge on steel.



Plate; 17.5cm, metal

Plate, aluminum. Side plate.



Plate; enamel, blue/white

Plate, enamel ware dish, dark blue and white mottled finish.



Rake, garden; handle missing

Cast iron grading rake, end piece only, no handle. Fourteen prongs,
threaded joint.

Ceramic plate. Picture of a church on the front. Beneath the picture reads
"L Eglise N.D. DeLourdes DeMaillardville C.B.". Gold trim on the rim. On
the back is printed some historical notes in French. On back it also reads
"Co?? Art China Collingwood. Ont."



Plate, luncheon; CPR logo

Luncheon plate, CPR. This dish differs from the rest in that the ring is
wider and the pattern narrower, leaving the inner 7/16" of the ring white.
Ring width 1-1/4 inches. Manufacturer & logo: MINTONS across a globe
flanked by laurels so as to imply a wreath and topped by a crown. All on
top of words EST. 1793/ENGLAND.



Plate, luncheon; CPR

Luncheon plate, CPR. This dish differs from the rest in that the ring is
wider and the pattern narrower, leaving the inner 7/16" of the ring white.
Ring width 1-1/4 inches. Manufacturer & logo: MINTONS across a globe

top of words EST. 1793/ENGLAND.



Saucer; CPR logo

Saucers, white with medium blue trim design. Leaves and plants. "Canadian
Pacific" written in blue on top. Written on back "VITRIFIED RIDGEWAYS
SHELTON-ENGLAND ESTD 1792" written in brown. "REG No. 745624" on back as
well.



Cup, coffee; CPR logo

Cups to match saucers (980.41.1-10). White with medium blue tirm and maple
leaf design.

Coffee cup, Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) logo.

Used in the September 2006 "Apple Pie" kitchen display. -BS



Saucer; CPR logo

White saucers. "Canadian Pacific Dining Car Service" written in green, with
the CPR shield logo. On bottom, "SOVEREIGN POTTERS MOTEL CHINA" is written
in green.



Plate, salad; CPR shield

Side plate. White with CPR shield reading "CANADIAN PACIFIC DINING CAR
SERVICE" on front in green. "SOVEREIGN POTTERS MOTEL CHINA" written in
green on back surrounding a maple leaf.



Platter; oval, plain white

Oval platter. No markings. "GLOBE POTTERY 02 VITRIFIED MADE IN ENGLAND
BUBCOMBE & COMPANY VANCOUVER CANADA"
