[BCMA] Nanaimo Museum Upcoming Community Events

Nanaimo Museum presents:

 

Our Feathered Friends: Urban Bird Tours

Kevin Storey, tour guide and local birder, will take visitors on an
urban bird walk around downtown Nanaimo, on February 11, March 10, April
14, May 5, 2012 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, departing from the museum. This
costs $15 per person and pre-registration and payment is required. 

 

Nature Photography Contest: February 3 to May 1

The contest is open to amateur photographers and endorsed by the Harbour
City Photography Club. The three categories are; Kids: up to 9 years,
Youth:  10-14 years, and Adults: 15 years plus. The theme is Nature,
with an additional theme for adults, of birds. Please see our website
for details. Prizes will be awarded on May 18 and the best 20
photographs will be displayed at the museum.

 

Literary Luminaries is on February 25 when presentations will be given
local authors: Richard Mackie, Naomi Wakan, Tom Roulstone, Kenn Joubert,
Tom Paterson, Valerie Alia, Mary Ann Moore, Dee Cullen, Linda Dorricot
and Martyn Kinsella-Jones. Their books are about the history of Nanaimo
and Vancouver Island, poetry, historical fiction for adults and
children, science fiction and aboriginal culture. Specific times for the
authors to speak are available on our website.
