Can you imagine a museum where “do not touch” signs don’t exist? Interactive exhibits using touch and active exploration on the part of visitors are becoming an expected part of the museum experience, creating compelling and authentic experiences for individual and multiple users.

Creating an environment of deeper engagement for both visitors and museum staff alike will require you to use exciting new tools such as multitouch tables and walls, motion-sensing spaces, speech recognition, eye tracking and networked installations.

An understanding of the possibilities of augmented reality will transform your ability to create more engaging exhibits with stronger social interaction.

Dates: online April 9–22, 2012; in Toronto April 22–24, 2012 (blended model)
Two weeks of online learning (April 9–22) and three days on location at the Ontario Science Centre, Toronto (April 22–24)
