Exciting New Addition to Heritage Week Activities!
Heritage week 2012 promises a POWERFUL presentation! "We are thrilled to be hosting our very first Brown Bag Lunch and Lecture at the Okanagan Heritage Museum on Feb 23." states Michelle Harvey-Curator of Education and Public Programming for Kelowna Museums Society.  In celebration of the Heritage of Power, Gwendy Lamont, of the Friends of Fintry, will present about the fascinating life of Captain James Dun water, "The "Laird of Fintry" was a fascinating man of contrasts. He was a frugal Scot but generous, too. He revered tradition but was both innovative and inventive." (www.fintry.ca/history/index.php<http://www.fintry.ca/history/index.php>.). Harvey hopes Gwendy's interesting discussion and display will attract a substantial crowd to the first ever BYO-lunch event at the museum. "It's a great way to slip in some culture for the week while enjoying complimentary hot beverages confections. If all goes well, we'd like to make these lunches a monthly or even weekly event!" You can participate in the first ever Lunch and Lecture at 12:00 on February 23rd at the Okanagan Heritage Museum.
