[BCMA] Introducing BV Museum's new curator

New Curator

 

The Bulkley Valley Museum in Smithers, B.C. is delighted to announce the
appointment of a new curator, Ms. Michelle Reguly.

 

Michelle grew up in Thunder Bay, Ontario, where she attended Lakehead
University and obtained her general B.A. Later she attended Carleton
University where she obtained her honours B.A. in Art History. Michelle
obtained her Masters in Museum Studies from the University of Sydney,
Australia.

 

While in Australia Michelle worked at the Powerhouse Museum and the
Government House, Sydney. 

 

Before assuming her appointment in Smithers, Michelle worked as the
archivist and curator for the Pioneer Museum in Mindemoya, Ontario.

 

Michelle Reguly brings new energy and vision to the field of cultural
heritage in northwestern B.C. Her expertise is greatly appreciated by the
museum director Fergus Tomlin. Michelle takes over all curatorial and
archival responsibility for the Bulkley Valley Museum, which allows Fergus
to focus on the development of cultural tourism products and corporate
sponsorships while continuing his role of museum director.

 

As the Bulkley Valley Museum evolves into the future it is grateful for the
funding provided by the Omineca Beetle Action Coalition for development of
the Bulkley Valley Museum's 5 Rivers Culture Crawl. The 5 Rivers Culture
Crawl will focus on development of cultural tourism products in northwest
B.C.
