PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES: NEW BC Sports Hall of Fame Opening on January 6, 2012

 

Vancouver, BC - The BC Sports Hall of Fame is re-opening at Gate A of BC
Place on Friday, January 6th at 10:00am. Visitors are invited to explore a
fully revitalized 15,000 square foot exhibit space dedicated to Honouring
the Past and Inspiring the Future.   

 

The BC Sports Hall of Fame offers exciting, interactive and inspiring new
galleries including:

.         Vancouver 2010 Gallery

.         Hall of Champions

.         Best of BC

.         Our Teams; Our Turf

.         Special Exhibition Gallery - featuring the Dream Hockey Card
Collection

.         Viewing Window into new BC Place

.         Participation Zone 

.         Birthday Party Zone and much much more.

 

President and CEO Sue Griffin shares her thoughts on the anticipated visitor
excitement, "I know British Columbians will be absolutely amazed with the
transformation of the facility. Interactive technology will provide an
opportunity for guests to explore the exceptional moments in BC Sports
History. Our celebration of the 2010 Winter Games is truly exceptional; with
a collection of artifacts that are second to none. The BC Sports Hall of
Fame team is ready and excited to share these stories from our new home."

 

The BC Sports Hall of Fame will be open daily from 10am-5pm and is available

About the BC Sports Hall of Fame

The BC Sports Hall of Fame is a not-for-profit organization that, for the
last 45 years, has been the preeminent custodian of sport artifacts that
represent more than 100 years of British Columbia's sport heritage. Housed
in the new BC Place, the BC Sports Hall of Fame will reopen to the public in
a revitalized space on January 6, 2012 that puts the 2010 Winter Games front
and centre. The objective of the gallery to preserve and celebrate the
inspiring memories and moments of the Games - allowing visitors to
experience the exhilaration of winning gold at home, spontaneous outbreaks
of national pride and overwhelming demonstrations of focused determination
and commitment by our athletes for generations to come. Since 1966 the BC
Sports Hall of Fame has inducted 325 individuals and 54 teams.
