Lunar New Year Celebration at the Nanaimo Museum

 

In the year of the Dragon, Lunar New Year Celebrations will take place
at the Nanaimo Museum, with the Nanaimo Chinese Cultural Society and the
Central Vancouver Island Multicultural Society, on Saturday, January 21,
2012 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

 

Celebrations for this annual event, which is now in its 20th year,
feature the stunning Chinese Lion Dance at 1:10 pm and 2:45 pm, as well
as Chinese dancers and musicians, children singing Chinese songs and
cultural games. There will be ongoing activities including: calligraphy,
with your name written in Chinese characters; Mahjong, a traditional
Chinese game; children's activities (paper cutting), and refreshments of
Chinese tea and fortune cookies.
