The Council of Nova Scotia Archives initiated a Archives Management Software Review study and published a report on their findings. The report reviewed six software programs for managing the functions of accessioning and description including the PastPerfect program. The report was prepared by Amada Stevens, MLIS in the fall of 2008. Please visit the SNSA website for more information and/or to access the report.

P.S. The Oliver and District Heritage Society utilizes this program to manage our collections, contact info, donors etc. Please feel free to contact us if anyone would like more info.

Best regards,
Lynn

  Hi Shirley,
We are in the process of converting our collection management to Past Perfect. It is our intention, as well, to convert all of our membership and donor information to that software. In a recent e-letter from the company, they mentioned an online workshop that they are offering for Past Perfect users to learn the membership and contact database component with one of their instructors. The course is being offered for three mornings in early February and I have a staff member lined up to take it. It costs about $86 (US). They may still have room if you want to check it out. Call 1-800-562-6080 for more information or visit their website www.MuseumSoftware.com

Once we get fully integrated and have some experience with it, we look forward to connecting with others in BC who are using it as it would be great to learn from each other.

  Best,
  Jennifer

The North Vancouver Museum & Archives is now using PastPerfect software to manage the Museum’s collections database.

The next step in using this program is to use it to organize our non-collections contact lists. Our members lists, promotions lists, donors lists, etc are all scheduled to be moved to this management program.

We are wondering if there are any other museums in the Lower Mainland or throughout BC who have setup PastPerfect for this use. We would like to connect with you and learn from your experience.

  Please advise.

  Thanks
