Dear colleagues,
The North Vancouver Museum has been asked by a community member to see if we can locate a group of ship models. The employee says he was the "last" employee of Versatile Pacific Shipyards, the successor firm to Burrard Dry Dock (BDD). (BDD operated a huge shipyard in North Vancouver until the early 1990s.) The employee tells us that there were scale models of the ships constructed at BDD, and that all of the models were trucked out of the property in the early 1990s. He says that they went to various museums, but we don't seem to have any at our museum.
Can any of you shed any light on this story? Do you know where any of these ship models are?
Thanks for your help.
