Loans ride to museum's rescue
Winnipeg Free Press Share/Partager
Finally, a solution to the funding shortfall threatening the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. For much
of the past year, the federal Crown corporation overseeing the museum has scrapped with its government
masters over where to find an additional $40 million to complete construction. The dispute has already
delayed the opening of the museum by a year and threatened to leave the completed building an empty
shell. According to sources at all levels of government though, an agreement has been reached to bridge
that funding gap. More/LIRE PLUS

Redpath Sugar Museum offers glimpse into Canada's history with free tours
The Canadian Press Share/Partager
Anyone with a sweet tooth will be fascinated to learn about Canada's oldest sugar refining company during
a free visit to the Redpath Sugar Museum. The museum, housed within the hulking refinery on the Toronto

Michael Snow: Objects of Vision at the Art Gallery of Ontario
Toronto Star Share/Partager
Michael Snow follows the line of a spindly spruce trunk dangling from a thick rope at the Art Gallery of
Ontario. From its foot-thick base, the rough wood grows slowly, gradually more fine and finished as it nears
the tip, which is slim and polished to a needle-like point. It's called Transformer. Snow made it in 1982 and
the name speaks for itself. More/LIRE PLUS
