The Reach Gallery Museum Summer Camps for Kids



$10 off week long summer camps for children ages 6-12



Abbotsford, B.C. - Investigate what it takes to be a curator, make news and history as a photographer and journalist, and learn new artistic techniques at The Reach Gallery Museum this summer. For the first time ever, The Reach will host three week long summer camps for children ages 6-12. These camps are $10 off until June 15, so call and register today!



At the Junior Curators' Camp from July 9-13, kids will explore the behind the scenes world of The Reach and create their own art work to be exhibited in the Studio. While discovering their inner curator, children will also create a Heritage Minute video and go on a scavenger hunt to Abbotsford Heritage sites.



As part of the 90th Anniversary of Abbotsford News, our On the Beat Camp from July 23-27 is for all the budding journalists of the valley. Children will sleuth out the story, create their own photograph exhibition at The Reach satellite gallery in Abbotsford City Hall, and take an out-trip to the Abbotsford News to explore the printing process.



Last but certainly not least, the Artists' Camp from August 13-17 will engage and enhance kids' creative talent. Among many other techniques, they will learn papier-mâché, bead making and still life. There will be a Plein Air workshop, an out-trip to a professional artist's studio and a public art installation at The Reach.



Running Monday to Friday from 9am - 3pm, these camps are $150 for each registrant or $134 for Friends of The Reach until June 15. After the end of our promotion, they will return to the regular price of $160 for five sessions.
