CALL FOR LOWER MAINLAND ARTISTS

 

Group Exhibition: Temporary Assignment

(a temporary exhibition and performance space)

 

The Richmond Art Gallery is calling for proposals from artists (individuals, artist

collectives, performance artists, musicians etc.) whose practice includes some aspect of

“drawing”, to work directly on/with/against gallery walls for the end of year exhibition,

Temporary Assignment. All media will be considered.

 

Following this exhibition the Gallery is replacing its walls after 20 years of re‐painting

for each exhibition. “Artworks are temporary” - they go out with the drywall.

>From November 15 to 18, 2012 artists may work in the gallery space.

 

The Gallery is open to the public from November 19 to December 2.

Artists may continue to work, perform etc. during that time period.

Temporary Assignment closes Sunday, December 2.

 

On Friday, November 30, 2012 the Gallery will host a Closing party for all participants

and the public.

 

The Gallery is not able to provide artist’s transportation or accommodation for this

Exhibition

 

To APPLY:

A current CV, a brief artist statement, a statement of the proposed work, up to 6 images

of similar work or 5 minutes of video. Indicate in your proposal how much wall/gallery

space you require - i.e. postage stamp size and upward. (see gallery floor plan at

www.richmondartgallery.org). Online submissions will not be accepted.
