[BCMA] IAIN BAXTER& Exhibition Announcement

IAIN BAXTER&: Information/Location, North Vancouver

Early and new work created exclusively for this exhibition by one of Canada's most recognized artists. The multi-site exhibition takes place at the North Vancouver Museum, the North Vancouver Archives (in the Community History Centre), the North Vancouver City Library, and a community food garden (Loutet Urban Farm).  The exhibition deals with two lesser-known periods of the artist's practice that are separated by several decades. Included are early works (that pre-date the N.E.Thing Co. Ltd.) produced while BAXTER& lived in North Vancouver, and current, contemporary work conceived for this exhibition. BAXTER& (pronounced "Baxter-and"), who legally changed his last name in 2005, is an internationally known conceptual artist who is the focus of a recent retrospective exhibition at the Art Gallery of Ontario (through August 12, 2012).
