Nanaimo Museum Spring Break Family Activities

Nanaimo - A family friendly week of drop-in activities will take place
at the Nanaimo Museum during Spring Break on Monday, March 19 to Friday,
March 23 from 1 pm - 4 pm. The activities are designed for children ages
5-12 years to participate in, along with their parents, grandparents or
caregivers.

"Children will have so much fun doing the spring break activities that
they won't even realize they're learning," says Aimee Greenaway, Program
& Volunteer Coordinator. "There are five different themed days to appeal
to children with a wide range of interests." The activities are designed
for children in elementary school but each day will have one activity
suitable for preschool aged children. "The spring break activities at
the museum provide a great opportunity for family time," says Greenaway.
"Families will have a unique opportunity to learn together while having
fun."

Each afternoon has a new theme with related activities: Monday's theme
is "Family Tree for Me," Tuesday's theme is "Coal Miner," Wednesday is
"Birds! Birds! Birds!," Thursday's theme is "Old Fashioned Toys" and the
theme on Friday is "Snoopy in Space. The activities include art and
crafts projects, hands-on activities, building projects, science
experiments and toys. For activity details please visit
www.nanaimomuseum.ca

Families may participate in activities on all five days or just attend
the theme day of their choice. Children must be supervised by a
caregiver at all times during the activities. The activities are
available on a drop-in basis from 1 pm - 4 pm during spring break.
Admission is by donation, including all spring break activities and a
museum visit.
