[BCMA] Two Rail Cars to Donate

Hello all,


Last year, the Prince George Railway and Forestry Museum was given notice
that we'd have to move our large collection of rail cars stored at the local
CN yard. We are now sorting through this collection of rolling stock, and we
currently have two historic rail cars that are available for
trading/donation to other museums. 

BCOL 1933 Tanker Car:

The first car is the BCOL 1933 Tank Car. This tanker car has three domes and
is colored green.  It measures approx. 1215 cm long, 275 cm wide, and 315 cm
in height. In the middle of the car, there is a ladder that goes up to a
metal walkway running the length of the car. This car started out as Pacific
Great Eastern 1933. It may have been made around 1920, likely by American
Car & Foundry of St. Charles, Missouri. In its later years, this tanker was
filled with water and used by fire-fighters for hazardous material drills.
The rivets that hold it together make it a relatively unique tanker, as
later cars were welded. The wheels are quite rusty and some wood needs
replacement, but the car itself is in decent condition.

BCOL 3716 Tender:

The second car is the BCOL 3716 Tender Car. Built in 1912 by Montreal
Locomotive Works, this black tender was made for use with Canadian Pacific
steam locomotive 3716 and held 7000 gallons of water and 10 tons of coal. It
was later converted to hold oil. It was originally owned by the Kettle
Valley Railway Museum, which donated it to us after determining that it was
too small for their present needs. It is rusty on the sides and requires
some restoration.
