Those overall-clad Kettle Valley Brakemen return to the Osoyoos Museum Saturday, May 12 at 2:00pm.  This is the fifteenth year the band has been entertaining audiences with their unique blend of true historical stories and original songs about B.C.'s colourful steam rail era.  While "Okanagan Life" calls every Brakemen concert "a rollicking history lesson", one of the themes for the Osoyoos concert will be very serious.  "Each year over two hundred Canadians are killed or injured at railway crossings," says head Brakeman Jack Godwin.  "We've written a song that is a plea from engineers for public awareness of this danger."  The May 12th concert will include a brief talk by Operation Lifesaver representative Mike Stewart on this topic and The Brakemen will begin the second set with their cautionary song "Railway Crossing".  The tune has been mounted on the Operation Lifesaver web site.  "There will be our usual mix of history spiced with humour but we're adding a serious note," Godwin says.  The concert is being held in support of the Osoyoos Museum.  Tickets are $10.00 ($5.00 for Osoyoos Museum Society members) and further information is available @ 250.495.2582.
