War exhibits in danger of being lost to time

Many valuable collections of military artifacts and memorabilia may be lost as aging custodians become
fewer, military veterans and historians say. "Our volunteers here are Second World War and Korean War
vets," Jim McKinny, a veteran with the Nutana branch of the Royal Canadian Legion in Saskatoon, told
CBC News. "So the youngest one would be in their low 80s." More/LIRE PLUS

I haven't spoken with my late grandmother for 15 years. It was a few weeks after Remembrance Day in
1996 that she discovered just how ill she had become. She hung on for a few months, but succumbed to
the torment of pancreatic cancer on Feb. 26, 1997. More/LIRE PLUS

One thing for sure, we'll never run out of wars to remember. One by one they fall into history, layer upon
layer, each too horrible to imagine and too tragic to forget. Canada never declared war on Afghanistan, but
thousands of Canadian soldiers have been deployed there and, to date, 158 Canadian men and women
have been killed. More/LIRE PLUS

More/LIRE PLUS

Dans sa volonté de présenter des expositions «audacieuses, originales et stimulantes», le Centre des

Canadian scientists who 'stumbled upon' fragments of unidentified fossils at the Canadian Museum of
Nature in Ottawa have determined that they came from a previously unknown species of dinosaur from
southern Alberta - an important and early member of the group of large, horned animals that would
eventually give rise to the well-known triceratops. More/LIRE PLUS
