*Manager of Human Resources and Volunteer Services*
*Summary*
The Friends of Fort Steele Heritage Town is seeking a full time Human
Resources professional to implement human resource management strategies,
policies, and procedures to manage the human resource functions of both
staff and volunteers. This position reports directly to the General
Manager and assumes the role of General Manager in the absence of, or
unavailability of, the General Manager.
*Key Responsibilities:*
Develops, administers, and evaluates the operations of human resources
and volunteer services within the organization in the interest of
supporting staff and volunteers in carrying out the mandate of the
organization.
Provides direct supervision and point of contact for operations in the
absence of, or unavailability of, the General Manager
Plans for human resource requirements in cooperation with senior staff
Provides all staff with information about policies, duties, working
conditions, compensation and benefits
Ensures that performance evaluations are carried out on a timely basis
for all regular staff and provides support to managers with regard to
evaluations and professional development opportunities
Provides direct advice and assistance to any supervisor in the event of
an employee dispute or dismissal by coaching, offering guidance, and
addressing employee relations problems at a critical level, as needed
Drafts job descriptions for all staff positions and collaborates with
the General Manager on the development and implementation of human resource
strategies
Develops and implements all aspects of a volunteer management program
including needs assessment, recruitment, orientation, training,
recognition, and evaluation
Assists with and supports special projects as needed
*Qualifications:*
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource management, Business Administration,
or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training,
and experience
Minimum five years' experience in various areas of human resources
management preferably in a non-profit setting
Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and training in volunteer management
Strong knowledge of Employment Standards, Occupational Health and
Safety, and Human Rights
Sound experience in conducting recruitment and selection, evaluation,
coordinating training and development, and conflict resolution
Computer proficiency in a Windows environment
Excellent leadership, planning, organizational, and communication skills
required
Strong interpersonal and creative problem-solving skills
