Maps were one of the most coveted secrets of the world's grandest empires, promising wealth and power. This exhibition from the Wendt Collection features rare maps that were the product of centuries of human thought and scientific discovery, coinciding with the growth of humanism and the emergence of printing in the mid-1400s. This is the Canadian premiere of the exhibition from the Sonoma County Museum, California.

Additional interview time will be available with:

 * Henry Wendt - Owner, Envisioning the World maps
 * Dr. Lorne Hammond - Curator of History, Royal BC Museum
 * Tim Willis - Director of Exhibitions and Visitor Experience, Royal BC Museum

The MP3 audio tour and 104-page exhibition catalogue will also be available to media before and after the tour.
