Toronto would gain new museum and 85-storey tower in place of Princess of Wales
The Globe and Mail Share/Partager
Agreeing to the destruction of any playhouse these days is a decision not to be taken lightly, and Toronto's
Princess of Wales Theatre is not just any playhouse - it is a stunning facility, purpose-built as recently as
1993 for blockbuster musical shows, and the first privately owned and financed live theatre built in Canada
since 1907. It is hard to conceive that its run should last only two decades. More/LIRE PLUS

Agence QMI Share/Partager
presses. More/LIRE PLUS

Boundary Museum pulls artifacts from TLC Hardy Mountain site
Boundary Sentinel Share/Partager
The Boundary Museum Society has pulled two 40-foot long storage containers full of artifacts off The Land
Conservancy of BC's (TLC) Hardy Mountain Doukhobor Village site due to the TLC's financial woes. The
storage containers were removed and placed on concrete pads located on the Fructova site because the
local museum board fears the financial scrutiny the TLC has been experiencing over the past month may
jeopardize the artifacts contained within the containers, said Bob DeMaertelaere, Boundary Museum
Society secretary. More/LIRE PLUS

Combien coôtera le projet KB-3?
ThetfordActu Share/Partager
More/LIRE PLUS

essentiellement. More/LIRE PLUS

The Art Bank at 40 is a symbol of creativity, diversity
Ottawa Citizen Share/Partager
Having the Governor General at your party has got to be the icing on the cake, particularly when he stays
to help cut it. David Johnston attended the opening of the Canada Council Art Bank's special anniversary
exhibition, Spotlight on 40 Years. The show was on public display recently in conjunction with Culture Days
2012. It boasted four decades' worth of art and featured one key work from each year of the Art Bank's
history. More/LIRE PLUS

Archives opening offers history lesson
Kamloops This Week Share
Betty Inouye was too young at the time to realize what was happening. It was 1942 when the seven-year-
old and her Japanese-Canadian family were forced to move from Vancouver to Bridge River. More

Exploring Port Colborne's important past
Welland Tribune Share/Partager
Learning local history is very important, says Sebastian Habjan. It tells people how the area developed
over time, how things came to be, "You learn how the community helped shape the region," says Port
Colborne Historical and Marine Museum's education program co-ordinator. More/LIRE PLUS

Un hommage bien mérité pour Yvon-M. Daigle
More/LIRE PLUS

15 hot museum exhibitions you won't want to miss
The Globe and Mail Share
Fall is the perfect season to immerse yourself in culture: Museums and galleries were seemingly made for
rainy days. And once inside, it almost feels like spring. It's an era of rejuvenation, as new exhibitions in
radically redesigned spaces are changing how artwork and historic artifacts are displayed. Digital apps
promote personal interaction, while websites allow guests to map out visits in advance. Here´s a roundup of
shows and exhibits around the globe that you´ll be hearing about. Plus, ideas on where to refuel. More
