[BCMA] Nanaimo Museum Community Announcements: Spirit of Life Fibre-Art Presentation & Pro-D Day Workshop

The Nanaimo Museum has two community events coming up:

 

1. Feature Exhibit Presentation: 

    Fibre-Art: Messages in Multimedia

 

Artist Cecile Jacobs will give a tour and presentation of her work at
the Nanaimo Museum Thursday October 18th. A self-taught fibre artist,
Cecile explains her approach and the development of her unique artwork
currently exhibited in the feature gallery here at the museum.  She
tries to inspire others to think 'outside the box' and to develop the
confidence to create their own original work.

 

Tickets are $7.50 per person and members receive a 15% discount.

2. Pro-D Day Workshop :

 

The Nanaimo Museum is offering a new drop-in workshop for children and
their families on Oct. 19 from 1pm-4pm. The workshop is inspired by the
museum's feature exhibit on fabric art and builds on the success of
similar workshops during spring break. The Fabric Art for Kids workshop
features no-sew projects like making a letter wall hanging or a
Halloween treat bag.


The activities are designed for children ages 5-12 years. Families can
participate in the activities on an ongoing basis from 1pm to 4pm so
pre-registration is not necessary. Caregivers must be present to
supervise children at all times.
