GRAPHIC DESIGNER

 

The Richmond Art Gallery Association (RAGA) is seeking an in-house
Graphic Designer to provide internal support services in print and
electronic media. The Graphic Designer will report to the Gallery
Exhibitions & Coordinator and will work closely with staff to maintain a
strong visual communications portfolio and establish a cohesive brand
presence for the Richmond Art Gallery.

 

The RAGA exists to support the public, non-profit Gallery of the City of
Richmond, dedicated to the collection, exhibition, preservation and
promotion of visual arts and to promote exhibition-related lectures,
seminars, workshops and other forms of public education.

 

Duties include but are not limited to: the design, production and print
coordination of exhibition graphic materials; the development of
promotional collateral for the gallery's public programs and educational
initiatives; maintaining the gallery website, e-newsletter and social
media channels; as well as managing an archive of artist images, event
photographs and completed design

 

This is a part time position that is dependent on grant funding. The
hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with the potential of up to four days per
week. The wage is pay grade 2 ($17.33 per hour under review) plus 4%
vacation pay and 5% in lieu of benefits.

 

Requirements:

*        Diploma in Graphic Design required and 3 years work experience
desirable preferably in a Gallery setting 

*        Experience working with print media and processes

*        Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite 5 (PC & Mac) -
Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop

*        Good working knowledge of Dreamweaver, Wordpress and some
knowledge of HTML, CSS & PHP

*        Good working knowledge of Facebook, Tumblr, Youtube, MailChimp
