More/LIRE PLUS
5 worth the drive: Heritage museums and historical homes
Ottawa Citizen Share
Ontario boasts numerous heritage museums and historical homes that, decked out in period furnishings
and accessories, capture what life was like back in the day. Some of these spots are downright homey;
others, not so much. More
More/LIRE PLUS
Diefenbunker construction design-build forerunner
Daily Commercial News Share/Partager
Ottawa-area property available. 350 rooms. No view. That might as well have been the description of
Ottawa's 'Diefenbunker' an underground Cold War facility designed to withstand a nuclear attack, when it
was put up for sale by the federal government in 1994. Initially purchased by the Township of West
Carleton, it was sold for $2 in 1998 to a group of volunteers who continue to operate the facility as
Canada's Cold War Museum. More/LIRE PLUS
Star Wars exhibit set to open in Edmonton this weekend
Global News Share/Partager
After a much anticipated wait, the Star Wars Identities exhibit is set to open on Saturday at Edmonton's
Telus World of Science, giving visitors a chance to explore the film's characters like never before. Identities
is supposed to be one of the biggest exhibits to ever come to the Telus World of Science, with 20,000
tickets for it already pre-sold. More/LIRE PLUS

Is China building too many museums too fast?
The Globe and Mail Share/Partager
The new speed record for setting up a major contemporary art museum belongs to the Shanghai Museum
of Contemporary Art, which opened this month in a former power plant after less than a year of planning
and construction. The museum opened with one of Asia´s biggest art events: the Shanghai Biennale, also
organized at warp speed. More/LIRE PLUS

Dinosaurs may have evolved feathers for courtship
New Scientist Share/Partager
Fossils of a feathered dinosaur have given wings to the idea that complex quilled feathers might have
evolved for courtship, not flight, in at least one dinosaur species. The species concerned, the ostrich-like
Ornithomimus, seems to have had vaned feathers but neither it, nor its ancestors, ever seem to have taken
to the air. More/LIRE PLUS

visions and steel-grey cutouts of dense forests and boats in passage; quiet and haunting. More/LIRE PLUS
