FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts swings into another season with "Live at the 'Bolt" with Inner Ring Circus

BURNABY, BC - It's time to kick off another theatre season at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts and what better way than a circus? Watch as the Shadbolt Centre's atrium is transformed into the big top, not only to swing, leap and jump into another live theatre season, but also as part of the City of Burnaby's 120th Birthday celebrations.

"We're so excited about our new theatre season and what better way to kick it off then with the jaw-dropping Inner Ring Circus. This year is all about the magical and transformative nature of live performance and we wanted to give our audience an experience they won't find anywhere else but at the Shadbolt" - Cory Philley, Facility and Event Services Coordinator

The Inner Ring Circus show features an eclectic troupe of performers, orchestrated by a distinguished Ring Master and his derisive Ring Mistress. This seemingly dysfunctional circus troupe indulges its individual egos, with each member continually trying to dominate the stage.  The Ring Master and his multitalented troupe of performers will entice the audience into a mad world of aerials, acrobatics, and brain-teasing visuals.

Starting the show with a bang will be local Artists from East Vancouver - The Bank Dogs. These kids have insane musical talent and incredibly poignant lyrics. They tackle mature subject matter with skill and a style all their own.  At 16 and 17 years old, this home grown quartet have been playing together for four years, and rocking out at shows all over the Lower Mainland.

The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts has a seat saved for you all season long - be sure to take in some live theatre and "Expect the Unexpected"

About Celebrate 120
Celebrate 120 is a two week event that marks the 120 anniversary of the incorporation of the City of Burnaby. From September 15-30, free family activities, performances and workshops take place throughout the city to commemorate 120 years and celebrate community, arts, culture and sports. The festivities culminate with Jersey Day on September 28 and Culture Days, a national arts and culture movement from September 28-30.
