Posting - Program Chair, 2013 Annual BCMA Conference

 

The BCMA is looking for a Program Chair for this year's conference in
beautiful Parksville, Vancouver Island. The Program Chair plays a vital role
in the success of the conference. Working with the program committee, the
Program Chair defines the conference's goals and objectives and shapes the
overall conference experience. Typically, the PC releases a call for
proposals for workshops and sessions, reviews all submissions for content
and distributes proposals to the committee for further development. Working
closely with the Host Committee, the PC chair finalizes guest speakers as
well as planned local activities. The Program chair can expect to spend
approximately 3 to 4 hours a week on conference business; this time
commitment would increase as the conference draws closer. 

 

The Program Committee Chair position offers unparalleled opportunity to meet
and network with a broad spectrum of museum professionals and to ensure the
success of the conference. There are three committee members in place to
support you, and you are free to recruit more as needed.  The program chair
receives free registration to the conference, the appreciation of their
peers and the satisfaction of a job well done!
