150th Anniversary Celebration of St. John the Divine and the Cariboo Wagon
Road: August 17th and 18th, 2013


 


Saturday August 17:

Join the  <http://www.hopemountain.org/programdetails.html?&programID=72>
Hope Mountain Centre for Outdoor Learning for a historic guided bus tour of
the Cariboo Wagon Road. This will be a day event and includes a catered
lunch. The tour will finish up at the Yale Historic Site with a salmon bbq.
Bookings can be made through HMCOL's website (link here).

10:00am: Guided walking tour of Historic Yale, meet at the Museum.

6:00pm: Salmon BBQ: Hosted by The Yale and District Ratepayers, BBQ tickets
are available for sale through the Yale Historic Site or Barry's Trading
Post. The cost is $15.00 each if purchased in advance or $20.00 at the door.

7:00pm: Hope Performing Arts Community Theatre will be performing 'Tales and
Trails of the Canyon'. The show is included with your BBQ ticket or by
donation at the door.

Sunday August 18:

11:00am: St. John the Divine will be hosting historian John Mitchell's talk,
'BC's Road to GOLD', The story of the Cariboo Wagon Road.

12:30pm: Join us for a re-dedication of the Cariboo Wagon Road cairn and
park.

1:00pm: There will be Open House and refreshments on the grounds of the
newly conserved Ward House.

Throughout the weekend visit the Living History camp and watch historical
re-enactments by Black Powder and the Royal Engineers. Take a self guided
walking tour of Historic Yale, learn how to gold pan or sample some tasty
bannock.
