We are excited about the Young Canada Works (www.youngcanadaworks.gc.ca) and Canada Summer Jobs (http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/epb/yi/yep/programs/scpp.shtml) funding programs. It's great that they enable youth employment while supporting the work of so many valuable organizations across Canada!

If you do secure funding, remember we can help you find a student employee! Many Uvic students are looking for summer work across Canada as part of their co-operative education program. Co-operative education enables students to develop professional skills and reflect on the relevancy of their degree program in the working world. We can make the process easy for you by providing the following services:

  * Post and promote your opportunity to all the relevant programs at Uvic (including cultural resource management, geography, history, anthropology, and more)
  * Collect application documents and forward them to you as a package
  * Be on the front line answering UVic applicant questions
  * Pre-screen applications if there are an excessive number
  * Coordinate interview logistics, including communicating with the shortlisted candidates
  * Communicate hiring decisions to the successful candidates and the other applicants

Wishing you the best in this Holiday Season.
