Hello BCMA folks,

We have been conducting research on best practices regarding access to Oral History recordings and I thought I would pose a loaded question brought up by our board:

In terms of reproducing oral history recordings for public use, has anyone come across a situation where an archivist has had to restrict the release of the material due to "sensitive" content? (presuming that all consent and accession forms are filled out and the material can be legally released). If so, can anyone share policies about what might constitute "off-limits" or "restricted" material and what criteria this would be based on?

Any information or insights that you could share would be greatly appreciated.
