[BCMA] SMOC RFQ for Archival Materials

The Society for the Museum of Original Costume (SMOC) collects historic fashion, traditional costume, and textiles to create a museum of historic fashion and fabric arts. We’re home to thousands of artifacts that date from circa 1800 to today.

This year is an important one for us, as we’re the happy recipients of a gift of I. T. services from 3Spheres/JDQ Services. As a result, we hope to be able to start archiving, cataloguing, and digitizing our collection late this year/early 2014.

At this point, we’re gathering information that will allow us to raise funds to complete the project, which includes archival materials. As such, this RFQ will not immediately lead to a contract for goods.

We seek RFQ for archival supplies for the storing of the collection. Interested suppliers are asked to provide us with the cost to provide:

-       10,000 sheets acid-free tissue paper

-       1,000 acid-free garment storage boxes

-       For any in-kind contribution proposals offered, SMOC would be willing to contribute:
-       Exclusive recognition on SMOC’s website (www.smoc.ca)
-       Archival Materials Courtesy of: _____________” with the firm’s logo, contact information and link to its website.
-       Recognition of the firm on all photographs used in any publication or promotional material, including, but not limited to the website, newsletter, shows, annual report and brochures.            
Please note that this RFQ represents a portion only of the total amount of archival materials we will need over the next three years.
