I have used Bright Light Transfers http://brightlighttransfers.blogspot.ca/
Transferring several dozen films from the 1960s for the Museum of Archaeology was Kevin's first big job, I think, and we went back and forth a bit on the specifications. He did a good job.

Subject: [BCMA] 8 mm
Hello Friends,
I have been asked by a local gentleman who has many rolls of 8 mm film
if there is a way to transfer it to digital. Is there a company that
does that?
Thank you in advance, for you advice and knowledge.
Cheers,
