Midsummer's Eve of the Arts Celebrates 27 Years at Turtle Mountain Winery

 

Where: Turtle Mountain Winery, 3111 Agnew Rd. Vernon BC

When: July 17, 2013, 7pm

Vernon's greatest art auction and garden party is back for its 27th
consecutive year, but with a twist. The 2013 Midsummer's Eve benefit event,
sponsored by Predator Ridge, will be held at Turtle Mountain Winery in
Vernon with stunning views of the Okanagan landscape, the perfect backdrop
for Vernon's own Shakespearean themed art event. 

 

"Guest will be delighted with our new venue of choice this year. Turtle
Mountain Winery offers a beautiful park-like setting, great views of the
vineyard overlooking the city landscape. The site really creates an
atmosphere that compliments the event; celebrating the arts outdoors on a
beautiful summer evening in the Okanagan, it's a wonderful experience, there
is nothing else like it." - said Dauna Kennedy Grant, Executive Director.

 

Guests will also enjoy appetizers and wine, and a selection of gourmet
desserts. Vernon's own Kath and the TomKats will perform a mix of live jazz
and blues music, creating a soothing atmosphere for guests to mingle and
view art before the lively art auction. Don & Peter Raffan, world champion
auctioneers of Valley Auction will once again entertain guests in the live
auction. Betty Selin of the Sunrise Show at SunFM will emcee the event.
Midsummer Night's Dream inspired face & body painting by Tanya Lipscomb will
also add to this magical evening.

 

"We have over 80 submissions of art and specialty packages in the live and
silent auction. Everything from large scale paintings by international
artists, to a vintage wine collection, there is a lot to choose from. This
is a great opportunity to not only enjoy the sights and sounds of arts and
culture in Vernon, but it's also our largest fundraising event of the year
and the proceeds support the outstanding exhibitions and programming the
Gallery offers to the public each year. Come out and show your support and
enjoy a great night out." - said Ruth Hoyte, VPAG board member and MEA
chairperson.

 

Tickets are $50, available at the Vernon Public Art Gallery at 3228 31st Ave
Vernon, or by phone at 250-545-3173. A shuttle service is available to and
from the Schubert Centre starting at 6:30pm. Turtle Mountain Winery is
located at 3111 Agnew Rd Vernon BC. Gates open at 7:00pm with complimentary
food service, cash bar and live entertainment. The live auction begins at
8:00pm.
