[BCMA] Bamberton summer season info

Bamberton Historical Society opens its summer season with a newly produced documentary film, ‘Bamberton Bound’, premiering  July 28, August 4, 11 and 18.  This is a new look at one of the most important historic sites in BC’s history.  Illustrated in part with creative animation, as produced by graduates from the Animation Program at the Victoria College of Art (VCA), this short production was funded by a grant from the New Horizons for Seniors Program.


Anecdotal tales of boys and girls growing up post-war in the Bamberton village make for entertaining history.  Hear the stories--from the ordinary to the remarkable--as recollected by several of the sons and daughters of the cement manufacturing workers who grew up amongst the 27 family homes of this self-contained, company town.
Nestled on a steep slope of the Malahat mountain and overlooking Saanich Inlet, the town that was their home is now but a ghost town.



Also enjoy free tours of the former Bamberton village, the original rock quarry and waterfront and the Bamberton Museum housed in the original site manager’s house. History is brought to life on these tours by dozens of creatively, crafted life size figures offering you a unique glimpse of history never seen before.
