The Penticton Art Gallery seeks an experienced, innovative, team-oriented, and highly motivated graduate student in Art History, the Visual Arts or Creative Writing for the intern position of Curatorial Assistant. The Curatorial Assistant will be responsible for the planning and coordination of at least one touring exhibition originating from the Penticton Art Gallery's permanent collection or previous exhibition program. 

The successful candidate will develop and implement an ongoing exhibition touring program running out of the gallery which will introduce a wider audience to a positive and creative visual arts experience. The successful candidate will have extensive interaction with the gallery's Director/Curator, Gallery Administrator, Art Preparator along with the rest of the gallery staff as they work on developing and promoting a dynamic exhibition touring program.

Our ideal candidates are those with a high academic standing, a keen interest in the visual arts and art history, and are able to work both independently and with others. Special consideration will be given to those who have recently graduated in the visual arts or art history. Candidates should have a competent understanding and knowledge of computer systems, including Internet and word processing, although these skills can be further developed through the project. Our most commonly used language is English, although a secondary language would be an asset. The Penticton Art Gallery encourages students of all ages, races, and gender to apply.
