Burnaby Village Museum has been offered a "Flexible Flyer" children's sleigh bought around 1900 at TJ Trapp Hardware on Columbia Street in New Westminster.
This sleigh has some good history but we already have a similar sleigh with local history.
Here are a couple of web sites related to these sleds
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flexible_flyer
http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=flexible+flyer+sled&qpvt=flexible+flyer+sled&FORM=IGRE for images for Flyers (there are modern sleds illustrated here)
http://www.ehow.com/about_5087180_history-antique-flexible-flyer-sleds.html for a basic history of the manufacture of Flyers
I do have an image of the actual sled, if you are interested.
