The Vancouver Women's University Club invites you to attend a fabulous concert of Celtic and Canadian folk music. Held in the elegant drawing room of the beautiful Hycroft mansion, this foot tapping concert features Lynn Mcgown and Michael Pratt, whose infectious love of singing has delighted audiences in Vancouver for thirty years. Lynn and Mike are joined by singer and guitarist Michael Viens.

Lynn draws from her mother’s Quebecois heritage and her father’s Scottish roots to perform in a dynamic style, clogging as she sings or playing the Bodhran ( a Celtic drum). Michael is a singer, concertina player and fiddler who draws from his Irish roots and his involvement in the British Folk Revival in the 70’s before moving to Canada. Michael Veins was first introduced to the Celtic scene in Vancouver when he joined Blackthorn in 1995 and has never looked back.

The trio have a passionate belief in live acoustic music and in creating a community where all are welcome to listen and join in the chorus.

Join us for this fun and lively musical afternoon of Quebecois, Irish, North American, and Scottish tunes with local ballads and soulful songs from across the Atlantic.

 Seating is limited.
