[BCMA] Canada Summer Jobs

[Moderated BCMA subscriber listserv.]

We have steadily lost positions over the last 3 years...starting with 3 funded positions for years until it went down to 2, and then down to 1 last summer. 
We are still awaiting decisions to be made regarding the 2 positions we applied for this year. 

It's very curious, but there have been no concrete indications as to why there have been so many cuts and delays, as has been the case for so many museum organizations.

We applied for 2 positions and were denied both. I have approached our local MP's office but have not heard back yet. This happened to us  a couple of years ago and the MP was able to help us out.

We had been cut completely as well but fortunately, our MP went to bat for us and we got 2 of the 3 positions we had applied for.  The person we are dealing with at Canada Summer Jobs is unhelpfully located in Calgary and doesn't seem to know anything about much of anything.  I haven't been able to find out if there is a major unannounced cut this year but that's what I suspect.
