Request for Proposals - Web Copywriter

Victoria, BC Canada - The Victoria Attractions Association (Attractions Victoria) is now accepting proposals for a copywriter and itinerary designer for a new "suggested itineraries" section of their website www.attractionsvictoria.com<http://www.attractionsvictoria.com>.
The successful applicant will have broad knowledge of the local tourism industry and intimate knowledge of the core members of Attractions Victoria.  He or she should have an ability to think creatively, and must be tuned into the variety of traveler types and tourist audiences in Greater Victoria.
Based on encouraging participation and attendance at Attractions Victoria member businesses, the successful applicant will design a series of suggested itineraries for visitors.   eg.  Traveling with kids, Foodies, Adventure and Eco-travel, history and culture, etc.   Additional options would include using the CTC's Traveler Types categories, or focusing on specific neighborhoods / areas.
Requirements for the itineraries:

*         All members in the "Activities" category are required to be included in at least one of the suggested itineraries.

*         Detailing "insider" information about the neighborhoods or locations of each attraction.

*         Offering multiple suggestions for transportation options for each itinerary.

*         Remaining "neutral" to non-member competitors.
To be included in the proposal:

*         Budget.  Please specify a total amount for this project and include time for review and revisions from the marketing committee.  A minimum of 10 itineraries is required, more are welcome.

*         Timeline.  Please indicate the amount of time required to complete the project.

*         Samples.  Please include 1 writing sample from a previous project AND 1 sample itinerary based on the information currently available on our website and members' respective sites.
Timeline:

*         RFP is released:  April 5th, 2013                  Re-release date:  May 30

*         RFP deadline: May 1st, 2013                         RFP deadline:  June 4th

*         Contract awarded:  May 8th, 1013              Contract awarded:  June 5th

*         Copy due for first review:  May 31st, 2013  Copy due:  June 15th

*         Ready for final upload:  June 30th, 2013
