[BCMA] BC Heritage Quilt Project 1989

Hello All

I am looking for some information about the BC Heritage Quilt Project. This was a survey of quilts in museum collections around the Provence.

An individual contact me asking about the project because a heritage quilt web site she had seen listed the Burnaby Village Museum as the repository for the records for this 1989  project.

BVM does have copies of the catalogue sheets and photographs of the Quilts in our collection, but that is all.

The cover page for the documentation we have has the letterhead of the Vancouver Museum (MOV)

I am wondering if a complete set of records exists anywhere or if participating institutions were each given their own records.

There were a number of "Examiners" or "Interviewers": Margaret Miller Long, Wendy Drummond, Leila Robertson, J. Baldigara (?) and others.

I have no idea who the project organizers might have been or how many museums participated.

Judging by the worksheets we have, this was a very comprehensive documentation of quilts in museum collections in BC.

I did a web search on heritage quilts and got many more hits than I expected. Quilts are a popular subject. There are excellent sites with databases of quilts in American collections.

If similar data is available on BC quilts it would be a shame to leave it in a forgotten file.
