[BCMA] Celebrate the History of the Okanagan!

 The Okanagan Historical Society would like to invite all of you to join us
at the Okanagan Regional Library (Kelowna Branch) on September 28th from
10:00am to 12:00pm for the Digital Launch of our OHS Annual Reports.



The Okanagan Historical Society and the University of British Columbia are
so pleased to announce that the digitization of the OHS Annual Reports is
complete!



Several years ago the OHS Executive was approached by the UBC Okanagan
Library to enter into a partnership, where the Library would provide
funding to the Digital Initiatives Unit at UBC (Vancouver) to digitize the
OHS Annual Reports and provide a web portal to make the Collection
accessible to a much wider audience.



The Okanagan Historical Society has been publishing their Annual Reports
since 1926. These Reports are considered to be one of the longest,
continually running publications in British Columbia. Articles are
submitted though the local branches from Armstrong-Enderby, Kelowna,
Oliver-Osoyoos, Penticton, Salmon Arm, Summerland, the Similkameen and
Vernon and have greatly contributed to the history of the Okanagan, its
industry, community and the people who live in this beautiful Valley.



The OHS Executive Council is thrilled to be connected to UBC though this
project. We are very happy to have our Annual Reports as part of UBC’s
Online Library where they can be accessed by UBC students and a wide range
of researchers from all over the world.
