[BCMA] women in museums

There lingers a perception, both within and without the museum world, that normal museums are for women to do.  A good example is in seasonal job postings for interpreters at historic sites or program staff at museums.   Typically, such job postings describe applicant attributes or job skills as spinning, sewing, knitting, making butter and baking.   Rarely an equal mention of woodworking, tool sharpening, toy making or mechanical repairs as desirable (manly) skills for the jobs even though they can be equally safely and interestingly presented.
