[BCMA] Interview Transcribing Software & Workshop

Hi there,

 

Are there any suggestions for good transcribing software? The Bowen Island
Museum & Archives are forming an interview committee, and are looking for a
reliable way to transcribe, other than Dragon Naturally Speaking. Please let
us know if you have had success with one, or know of a place that does
transcribing.

 

As well, we are looking to host an Interview Workshop in October to train
our volunteer interviewers on how-to interview. For instance, what questions
to ask, how to approach someone for an interview, steering the conversation,
and formalities for archival purposes. If there are any suggestions for
people we could contact to host, please let us know.
