Your Masterpiece may be on the Silent Auction block at After Dark!

You may be surprised at the masterpieces that you'll be able to acquire at the original square foot art silent auction at the 13 September After Dark at The Reach fundraising soiree at The Reach Gallery Museum Abbotsford.

"You will discover budding artistic talent where you least expect it! After some sweat, a few agonizing and yes, often comical moments and a mad novice's paint-in night, local community leaders, colleagues, dignitaries and professional artists have mastered beautiful individual square foot pieces for our silent auction," explains Ingrid Epp, director of development at The Reach. "Oh, let's see, is that a piece by Mayor Banman, Reach chair Milt Walker, School District chair Cindy Schafer, lawyer Caroline Fadden, the Sugar Plum Sisters, Abbotsford Chamber president Mike Welte, artist Sharon Huget or Anne White?!"

After Dark guests will have so much fun outbidding each other to claim ownership of these amazing art works and more, while raising crucial funds for hands-on children's art and heritage activities and seniors programs at The Reach.

But wait, square foot art will not be the only show stopper at the September After Dark in the coolest gallery. Vancouver's visual aerial artist/performer Amanda Shatzko, who just returned from an aerial painting gig in Times Square, New York, will not only knock your paints over with her dazzling performance at After Dark, she will start a bidding war on the large art piece she will create live at this event. Shatzko has performed for film and television, live for audiences in various countries and has had numerous commissions, including with The International Gallery Container Art and to paint athletes in Whistler/Vancouver during the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Where Shatzko leaves you breathless, Abbotsford's pianist Susan Choi & Friends: Yun Jung, violinist and Kevin Park, cellist will get you 'hooked on classics', and Valley duo Kat and Tony will see you sway to their lively blend of bluesy, jazzy, rootsy music. Oh, and don your favorite expression for Vancouver caricaturist Ted Couling as he sketches your couples or individual keepsake portrait.
There will be time to indulge in elegant artistic foods, play the Westjet paper airplane game to raise funds while trying to win a trip for two (on Westjet), sip on refreshing libations and socialize and relax with friends in the swanky Canadian Western Bank, KPMG, Odlum Brown Limited, RDM Lawyers LLP, Relevention Marketing, TD Bank and S.
