[BCMA] Notice of Potential Funding for Canada's 150th: DEADLINE MONDAY

Hello everyone,

 

Many of you have been asking about funding for Canada's 150th in 2017. We
are pleased to advise that the process for potential federal funding has
started. Please read on for more information and an important deadline THIS
MONDAY.

 

We are working with Heritage Branch to provide a coordinated and
representative set of high-level proposals to Canadian Heritage, via the
Culture and Heritage Working Group on Canada's 150th. This list of proposals
will help the Working Group shape the federal programme, and ultimately
benefit BC's heritage and cultural infrastructure. Please see the attached
spreadsheet that we are helping to populate with ideas from our community
from across BC. The resulting list may be appended to a briefing to
Ministers Thompson and/or Oakes in preparation for a meeting with senior
Canadian Heritage officials in December / January.

 

How can you get on this list which is a starting point for federal funding
consideration? 

 

Please submit your plans/ideas to info at museumsassn.bc.ca
<mailto:info at museumsassn.bc.ca>  NO LATER THAN THIS MONDAY DECEMBER 15, 2014
for inclusion. Each idea is to be submitted separately in the body of an
email (not as an attachment) and no longer than 100 words maximum.

 

Note that inclusion on the list in no way assumes funding is available nor
guarantees funding for your organization or project. It is, however, the
starting point for discussions. We've been advised that at this point there
are no restrictions (funding for acquisitions, capital, operational, all
allowed). Please see attached for examples.
