The Canadian Museum of Rail Travel has a current opening for Senior Tour
Guide.

*Position:  Senior Tour Guide*

*Start Date: TBD*

*Wage:  $12/hour*


*Job Description:*

·         Provide tours in an enthusiastic and professional demeanor to
visitors.
·         Senior tour guide assumes lead role and main responsibility of
administering tours to the public.
·         Open and close cars at beginning and end of day.
·         Record environmental conditions in train cars and fill out
appropriate forms daily.
·         Provide training for volunteer, seasonal and part time tour
guides. The Senior Guide will take initiative and model exemplary behaviors
and work ethic to other staff and volunteers in the museum.
·         Open museum; ensure all museum public spaces are open, lights and
heating at adequate levels
·         Closes museum; ensures all doors are locked, lights are turned
off, washrooms are empty, and alarm is armed.
·         Works according the work schedule specified.
·         Booking of group tours.
·         Daily cash summary.
·         Gift shop inventory and maintenance.
·         Janitorial duties.
·         *Ability to lift 20 Plus pounds; physically fit and able to walk
long distance for extended periods of time.*
·         Maintain Point of Sale for ticket sales and gift shop.
·         Reception duties as required.
·         Building cleanliness and maintenance as needed and requested in a
timely fashion.
·         Assist in the hall: set up, take down, janitorial duties,
security and supervision of events.
·         Aid in special events and programs as needed.
·         3 month Probation
